A Safer Environment: The S-TYPE takes occupant protection to new heights of refinement. An energy absorbent seating system incorporates anti-whiplash protection. Seatbelt pre-tensioners, Isofix child safety seats, front, side and curtain airbags and impact absorbing crumple zones offer passive safety that´s second to none. Jaguar´s Adaptive Restraint Technology System (A.R.T.S.) is also standard on all models.
Dynamic Stability Control protects you by detecting understeer or oversteer, and adjusting power and applying brakes to the appropriate wheels to maintain grip.
Within one fifth of the time it takes to blink, A.R.T.S. analyzes the severity of a crash and deploys safety systems for optimum protection. Using sensors to monitor the size, weight and seating position of front seat occupants as well as steering wheel position and seat belt usage, A.R.T.S. ensures airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners are deployed safely and appropriately, minimizing the risk of airbag-related injuries.
Emergency Brake Assist (EBA): In the event of an emergency, Emergency Brake Assist senses if a driver is not applying maximum braking and intervenes to deliver the necessary additional force, gaining a potentially critical few metres in stopping distance.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) With cruise control activated, ACC will automatically maintain a pre-set, safe distance from the vehicle in front - even if it slows down. It will even warn you if another vehicle tries to move into your lane.
